YOUNG TALENT AWARD

At the close of each exhibition, the Town of Dieburg presents the Young Talent Award for Media Culture – a prize dedicated to recognizing the most outstanding media art projects to emerge from the collaboration between the IMC Master’s program and Museum Schloss Fechenbach. Now in its latest edition, the award has become an integral part of the exhibition’s identity, celebrating the artistic ambition and creative risk-taking of the next generation of media artists.

How the winner is chosen

The evaluation process brings together two distinct perspectives. A four-person jury of experts assesses each work on the basis of artistic quality, conceptual strength, and the ability to engage audiences in meaningful ways. Alongside the jury, the visiting public plays an equally important role: every visitor to the exhibition is invited to cast a vote for the piece that resonated most with them – the work that surprised, moved, or lingered. Those visitor votes account for 40% of the final result, making public engagement not just welcome, but genuinely decisive. The combination of expert judgment and popular voice reflects the exhibition’s own commitment to participation as a core value.

Award Ceremony – July 12

The winners are announced by the Mayor of Dieburg, Frank Haus, at the exhibition’s finissage on July 12 at 3 pm. The closing celebration brings together artists, students, collaborators, and the public for an afternoon that marks both an ending and a moment of recognition – honoring the works that defined this year’s edition of “(No) Connection.” The finissage is open to all and free of charge.
